The story of Outpost Ventures began with a meeting between Bryan Ingram and Mark Troncale of Quantum Unity and Ingram’s colleague Dave Harden, founding architect of AFWERX, the technology innovation arm of the US Air Force, and the Chief of Strategic Prioritization at the Pentagon. The meeting was centered around advanced next-generation technology commercialization.

The key outcome of the meeting was Quantum's spearheading of the establishment, financing, and launch of Outpost Ventures as an equity partner, with funding coming through Quantum partner Mark Troncale’s network. Joining him as the initial founding partners were Ingram and Harden.
